On the way to a youth education
More young people at risk should be equipped to complete a youth education. We work to empower young people in the transition to upper secondary education and prevent them from dropping out along the way.
About 15% of young people in Denmark do not complete a youth education. Many start, but drop out along the way. Young people with social, academic or personal challenges are at particular risk of not completing upper secondary education. This increases the risk of a life on the margins of society. Therefore, these young people should be supported in a smooth transition from primary to upper secondary education.
We support organisations and initiatives that work to ensure that:
Young people at risk get a smooth transition and safe start to education after primary school, and improve motivation, relationships, well-being and confidence in their own abilities.
Young people become involved and contribute with knowledge and experience, e.g. through student organisation in their youth education.
