A good start in life
All young children should have a good start in life. We strive to ensure that children at risk have a good childhood, thrive and develop – from pregnancy to the start of school.
Some children have poorer chances in life than others. They are born into families with, for example, few resources, poverty or disease. This can affect the child’s well-being and development and opportunities of having a good life and, in the long term, to complete upper secondary education.
Egmont strives to ensure that children at risk get a good start in life so that they thrive and develop. The very first years of a child’s life are crucial for the child’s future learning and development.
We therefore support organisations and initiatives that seek to:
Strengthen parenting skills in families at risk
Ensure that more children at risk get a good start in school
Support the language development of children at risk
Empower children in the most vulnerable positions with local and holistic support.
