Eduacation for all
Children and youth at risk should have the same opportunities to learn, develop, and take an education as other children and youth, including those who do not follow a “straight path” through life and the education system.
Children and youth at risk have a lower likelihood of passing the primary school final exam and completing upper secondary education compared to other children.
We work to provide the support they need, enabling more of them to pass the primary school final exam and have the skills to start upper secondary education. We know that education is the most significant protective factor against vulnerability and a life excluded from communities.
We strive to ensure that children and youth on the edge of the school system receive the necessary support to progress into relevant and qualifying learning or education programs, such as STU (a special youth education for youth with special needs) or FGU (a school for youth who don’t have the personal-, social- and academic skills to start upper secondary education).
We work to support children and youth here and now, and in the long run for an educational system that offers far more children and youth the opportunity to learn, develop, and to complete an upper secondary education.
Objectives:
Children and youth at risk experience increased enjoyment of learning and being in school and their fundamental academic skills, especially in reading and mathematics are strengthened so they can pass the primary school final exam.
Children and youth at risk have improved opportunities to learn, develop, and take an education. There should always be a path for learning and education – also for those who do not follow a “straight path” in the educational system.
