Olav T. Sandnes takes office January 2015 as new CEO and Chief Editor of TV 2 in Norway. His successor as CEO of Egmont Publishing Norway will be announced by the end of the year.
Chairman of the TV 2 Board Hans J. Carstensen is delighted that Olav T. Sandnes has accepted to become the new chief executive of the Egmont-owned TV 2 Norway Media Group.
“Olav T. Sandnes is very qualified to strengthen TV 2 even further. He is an experienced and dynamic media leader with great results behind him. Furthermore, he has a great understanding of tv and digital development and as a board member of TV 2 he already knows the media group well,” says Hans J. Carstensen.
Olav T. Sandnes (42) has been in Egmont Publishing Norway since 2009, from 2011 as CEO. He succeeds Alf Hildrum (66) and becomes part of Egmont’s Group Management.
“I really look forward to working with TV 2 and the organization. TV 2 contains a lot of competence and just as importantly a lot of passion. At TV 2 we will work with what I regard as the most exciting, interesting but also demanding job in the media business and at the same time taking good care of our public service responsibilities,” says Olav T. Sandnes.
TV 2 Norway is the biggest commercial tv channel in Norway with 7 channels, internet, mobile and interactive platforms. Olav T. Sandnes takes office on 5 January 2015. His successor in Egmont Publishing Norway has been found. The name will be announced by the end of the year.
“We have found Olav’s replacement but unfortunately, I can’t reveal the name before the end of the year. All I can say is that the candidate is Norwegian and recruited externally and I am looking forward to the introduction,” says CEO of Egmont Publishing, Torsten Bjerre Rasmussen.
