Merete Eldrup (56), until recently CEO of Danish TV 2, will be appointed to the board of directors of the Egmont Foundation and Egmont International Holding A/S at the annual general meeting in 2020.

Merete Eldrup holds a MSc. in Economics (cand.polit.) and started her career in the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Energy Agency. Merete then became member of the management board of JP/Politikens Hus A/S from 1997-2007 before she took the helm as CEO of Danish TV 2, a position she held until August 2019. Merete Eldrup has broad board experience, including Nykredit A/S, Rambøll Group A/S and book publisher Gyldendal A/S.

“Merete Eldrup is one of the most experienced media leaders in Denmark who at Danish TV 2 headed a publicist company in digital transformation. We are very happy that Merete Eldrup has agreed to enter the board where she will contribute with her extensive knowledge and experience to support Egmont’s further development as a leading media group in the Nordics,” says Chairman of the Board of Egmont, Lars-Johan Jarnheimer.

“Every day, Egmont reaches millions of people through a wide range of strong media companies – including TV 2 in Norway, which resembles TV 2 in Denmark. At the same time, the media group is on a growth journey with several new business areas. I look forward to supporting the continued strategic development,” says Merete Eldrup.
