Saga Egmont employs around 100 people who develop, licence and produce stories across formats in 35+ languages. We have a large sales and distribution network for digital content, and our content is sold through more than 1,000 retailers worldwide. We are a trusted partner with more than 40 distributors, and our content is streamed on more than 80 streaming services and +100 local and global libraries across the world.   

We are driven by an ambition to make literature accessible to all readers and every day we work to ensure that our vast catalogue of content is available where the readers are.

As a junior sales consultant, you will be part of a sales team of three people and responsible for sales and marketing towards streaming services, digital libraries, and digital retailers, but also assisting in business development of new sales and distribution channels.

Your work will be to help secure and expand Saga’s existing large network of channels. Your focus will be Spanish and English-speaking markets, but also France, Italy and the Netherlands. You will help to scan the markets for untapped business opportunities and together with our legal team, ensuring that agreements are subsequently finalized.

In addition to cultivating new sales channels, you will, together with the Head of Sales, ensure that the publisher's large catalogue is priced and discounted to optimize the commercial a la carte markets.

We imagine that you are an outgoing person who is not afraid to be proactive in initiating dialogue with new partners. You have strong analytical skills that you are brought into play with new customers and when identifying opportunities. You are not afraid of communicating complex business models and bringing them to life, ensuring that people and systems work together. 

Primary tasks:

  •  Scan English and Spanish speaking markets and identify new relevant retailers of digital books, including streaming services, libraries, sales channels and distributors.
  • Analyse relevant markets for potential new partners outside traditional publishing industry; telcos, phone manufactures, podcast and radio-producers, media platforms etc.
  • Sell the catalogue or parts of it to existing retailers or alternative business channels, such as media companies.
  • Develop and ensure that the publisher's large children's catalogue is available for interactive children's services
  • Develop and execute price campaigns globally with the publisher's major global partners
  • Ad-hoc tasks related to sales and marketing and business development

Who You Are:

  •  Outgoing and energetic, have a can-do attitude
  • Fluent English language skills and professional Spanish language skills
  • Have an interest in literature and digital books
  • Are commercially minded and can think outside the box
  • Have a flair for working with large amounts of data in multiple different systems
  • Quick to learn new IT systems and used to working in Excel
  • You are a highly organized and focused multi-tasker with strong attention to detail who can work independently.
