Egmont Press have announced the release of a new Winnie the Pooh app 'Classic Pooh.' Bringing to life the best of A.A. Milne's original tales, the app sees the beautiful hand drawn pictures of Pooh and friends by E. H. Shepard animated for the first time ever.

As well as revisiting the original stories, which children can read themselves or have read aloud to them by actor Rufus Jones, parents and kids alike can interact with the iconic and beloved characters through touchscreen features and marvel as the illustrations move from black and white to full colour - bringing a touch of magic to bedtime reading. Alongside the stories, parents will be able to re-live memories from their childhood with extras within "The World of Winnie-the-Pooh" – a special additional feature that includes biographies of the creators and the chance to see the inspiration behind everyone's favourite bear and his enchanting home, the original Hundred Acre Wood. There is even a little-known recording available of A. A. Milne himself reading one of his famous tales aloud.

Tim Jones from Egmont Press commented, "We're thrilled to be bringing the original Pooh stories by A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard to life on the the iPad and iPhone. The masterful storytelling of these classic tales has been loved by parents and children for over 80 years, so Winnie-the-Pooh truly is The Bear for All Ages. We hope this interactive storytelling experience will introduce a whole new generation of fans to the adventures of Pooh and his friends."

'Classic Pooh' is available to download today for free. The app includes one story free of charge with the option to purchase another for just £1.99. More stories will follow later in the year. Additional extra, 'The World of Winnie-the-Pooh', is available for £2.49. Shape A/S has been the design and development partner on the Classic Winnie-the-Pooh App.
