THE SALVATION sold to USA and Canada

After a fantastic reception from the audience and the international press at the Cannes Film Festival, Kristian Levrings Danish western THE SALVATION is “hotter than hot” among international sales agents, and the film has just been sold to USA and Canada.

Kristian Levering's Danish western, which is "walk of the town" among international salesmen at this year's Cannes Film Festival, has been sold to one of the most renowned distribution company's in North America, IFC.

IFC is one of the leading distribution company's of independent films and has distributed films in North America since 2000. They have handled movies by star directors such as Steven Soderberg, Richard Linklater, Gus Van Sant, Spike Lee, Todd Solondz, Olivier Assayas and last but not least Lars von Trier and Susanne Bier.

In addition to the U.S, the Danish sales company TrustNordisk has managed to sell THE SALVATION to France, Australia, the Benelux countries, Greece, Estonia, Sweden, Iceland, Finland and Norway.

Rikke Ennis, CEO at TrustNordisk, is happy about the great interest in THE SALVATION: "The interest for THE SALVATION has been overwhelming. We have not negotiated with these studios since "Dancer in the Dark". Danish film is more popular than ever, and there is no doubt that Mads Mikkelsen officially is an international star. We are so proud of Kristian Levering's movie!"

THE SALVATION had its world premiere Sunday night as a part of the film festivals official program. The packed cinema acknowledge the movie with standing ovation for 6 minutes and some of the most leading movie magazines, such as Empire Magazine and Hollywood reporter, have praised the movie.
