Readers of Olivia Magazine put together CD

The readers of the magazine Olivia voted for the music numbers which have now become the CD Olivia Hits Vol. 1.

The CD was released June the 23rd and the great amount of 9'000 copies was pre-ordered. The CD features 20 Danish and international hits from the charts in Danish radio.

"We have asked the readers of Olivia and they have voted for the tracks they wanted on the CD. That increases the interest for the CD and shows that you quite easily can sell music to the target group of the age range from 8-13 year old girls," says Licensing Manager Michael Benzon.

The life style magazine Olivia for the 8-13 year old girls has had increased circulation since it was brought onto the market in 2005. The potential in the magazine is so great that it is now extended to other products such as CD clothes.

"The special thing about Olivia is that it is the readers own magazine which they are shaping themselves. It is for example pictures of the readers that are showed inside the magazine and on the cover instead of models. It is also a reader that adorns the cover of the CD," tells Licensing Manager Michael Benzon.

Olivia Magazine is published every 3 week in an edition of 40'000 copies. It has become an international brand with sister magazine in Sweden and Norway. The integration between editorial concept and other products is a part of the plan of Egmont Serieforlaget to extend well-known brands into complete universes.
