Nordisk Film finds Development Director’s quick exit regrettable

Lars Grarup has accepted a position as Editor-in-Chief of one of Denmark's most prominent daily newspapers, Politiken. Consequently, he leaves Nordisk Film effective immediately.

On August 1, Lars Grarup started as Development Director for Nordisk Film's film-producing units, which include the company's own film production and nine other Nordic partner companies.

"It is regrettable that Lars Grarup leaves after such a short time at Nordisk Film, but it doesn't change the fact that we are increasing our focus on our film-producing companies, who make 20-25 movies a year. We are one of Europe's biggest film producers, but we want to move our production another step ahead. So now we are looking – internally as well as externally, for a new candidate to fulfill our ambitions," says Allan Hansen, CEO of Nordisk Film.

Lars Grarup explains his quick exit with a job offer, he couldn't refuse:
"I am sorry that my stay at Nordisk Film won't be any longer. I had truly been looking forward to working on the strategic development of strong Nordic movies at one of Europe's biggest producers. However, the position as Editor-in-Chief at Politiken is a dream that no journalist could decline. I am grateful that Nordisk Film lets me resign without notice," says Lars Grarup.

Nordisk Film's on-going projects and co-operations within film production remain unchanged.

Nordisk Film's film-producing companies are Nordisk Film Production (Nordic), A. Film A/S (DK), Copenhagen Bombay (DK), Fine & Mellow (DK), Zentropa (DK), Maipo Film & Tv-produksjon AS (NO), Neofilm (NO), Fladen Film (SWE), Matila Röhr Nordisk Oy (FI), and Solar Films Inc. (FI).
