Nordisk Film acquires Scandinavian online ticket agency

By acquiring all shares in Billetlugen A/S Nordisk Film takes an important step towards the goal of creating new digital business within the field of entertainment.

Nordisk Film acquires 100% of the shares in the company Venuepoint that has run www.billetlugen.dk since its startup in 2000. Nordisk Film buys Billetlugen A/S from Solstra Capital Partners (who has run the company on behalf of ALMC) and Parken Sport & Entertainment. Solstra Capital Partners has worked with the majority of shares since 2009.

In a few years Billetlugen.dk has achieved a market leading position in Denmark, by developing the best systems of the market and strict focus on the customer, and has had significant growth – latest by 2011, when the revenue grew by 38 percent. The company annually sells tickets for more than DKK 750 million and employs 50 people. In Norway and Sweden the company has established itself under the brand-names Billetportalen.no and biljettforum.se. The selling price is not disclosed.

CEO at Nordisk Film, Allan Hansen says:
"We are a Nordic entertainment company that keeps seeking new business opportunities. The event market is a growth market and we wish to expand our dialogue with the Scandinavian consumers, who are looking for quality out-of-home entertainment. Nordisk Film manages over 13 million movie tickets annually in Scandinavia via Kino.dk, Filmweb.no and our movie theatres. It is natural for us to extend with tickets for concerts, theatres, theme parks and events, and we believe that Billetlugen is the right company for us, in order to pursue this strategy".

Digital Director in Nordisk Film, Christian Lund, comments on the acquisition:
"We have been looking at Billetlugen for a long time. It is a healthy digital company with a great potential for growth within an area, where we are already running successful business. With Billetlugen we want to realize an ambitious growth plan in Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia."
