Imperial reopens as the world's largest Dolby Atmos cinema!

Today the Danish cinema Imperial reopens. The rebuilding of the largest cinema is finished - and Imperial is now the world's largest Dolby Atmos cinema. The rebuilding will provide an unmatched cinematic experience with an advanced sound system, a huge canvas and new chairs.

Cavalcade of Dolby Atmos movies

Imperial's new sound system, Dolby Atmos, belongs to one of the most advanced on the market. A multitude of speakers in the hall and the 64 new channels of audio provide a completely new experience of what cinema can be. To give all guests the opportunity to experience the spectacular sound system right from the start, Imperial therefore shows a cavalcade of great movies in Dolby Atmos. From Thursday 26/9 to Tuesday, 1/10, there will be opportunity to experience Pacific Rim, Wolverine, Man of Steel, The Hobbit, Star Trek: Into Darkness and Elysium mixed in Dolby Atmos.

New canvas and new chairs

Also the canvas and the chairs have been revamped - the canvas has widened and has been moved a bit, and the audience will now see an image that is 40% larger than the previous one. To make room for the new, big screen, three rows of chairs has been removed, so there are now 1,002 soft brand new cinema chairs with tilt function to sink into.
