Game character Pixeline enters the physical world

On 5 April the adventure park Universe on Als, Denmark, starts its 10th season and this year's big news is the opening of a 2,500 m2 interactive area called Pixelineland.

The Egmont game character Pixeline stepped into the physical world when she got her own home in the Universe adventure park on the island of Als. Pixelineland is a 2,500 m2 large interactive land where children and their parents can play the Pixeline games in the store windows, get a hug from the pixelated girl or have fun at the playground or park area.

CEO of Universe, Pia Bech Mathiesen, is excited to show the new Pixelineland to the park's guests.

"We are extending our offer for the preschool children considerably with the new Pixelineland, which is something we have wanted to do for a long time. Pixeline is a strong brand that is loved by all Danish children, and Pixeline represents play and learning which makes it a perfect match for us," says Pia Bech Mathiesen.

Pixelineland consists of a total of ten stores with 24 shop windows. The shop windows are equipped with screens and joysticks so the children can play the Pixeline games. Pixelineland will be continuously developed over the years to come.

The Pixeline universe is already known from video games, apps and board games. At Egmont, who is behind the Pixeline brand, they are looking forward to the cooperation with Universe.

"The essence of Pixeline is that it should be fun to learn which is also the theme of the new park, where especially the scientific subjects come into focus," says Michael Benzon, International Licensing Manager in Egmont Publishing.
