Egmont Hjemmet Mortensen has acquired MyKid.no, a new digital service for parents and pre-schools.

Egmont Hjemmet Mortensen is Norway's largest entity in the "Parents and children" segment, with magazines such as Foreldre & Barn (Parents and children), BAM and web positions through Klikk.no such as Barnimagen.

"Egmont Hjemmet Mortensen's position in this segment will be strengthened further with the acquisition of MyKid.no", says CEO of Egmont Hjemmet Mortensen, Olav Sandnes.

MyKid.no offers pre-schools a digital administration tool which will make day-to-day coordination easier and facilitate improved dialogue between kindergartens and parents. The service is an alternative to current solutions with email, post-its, texts and personal messages that are time-consuming and can easily lead to misunderstandings.

"We've found a partner who can move MyKid.no further and make sure that the service is useful to as many as possible", says Bjarte Århus and Terje Gløerrsen from Intutor AS, who have developed MyKid.no.

MyKid.no has been enthusiastically received during its testing phase and has more than 300 pre-schools as users.

"We've used MyKid.no for more than a year, and this is really a solution which improves communication between parents and pre-schools. The service enables us to spend more time on the children and ensures that parents are more involved in the daily activities of their child", says Trine-Lise Jensen, leader of the pre-schools Korsvoltoppen.

Marianne Skari is hired as manager of MyKid.no. She started her new job on 1 April and was previously manager of the fitness chain Mykjemeir.
