Cinema Eye Award for Nordisk Film

The Nordisk Film-produced documentary "Ghosts of Cité Soleil" can now add another big American award to its long list of honors.

When the new Cinema Eye Awards were presented in New York on March 18, Asger Leth's "Ghosts of Cité Soleil" and the Nordisk Film production team won the category for Best Achievement in Production.

Cinema Eye Awards for Nonfiction Filmmaking has been set up by a number of leading American festivals who were discontented with the choice of documentary films at this year Oscar Award Show.

"Ghosts of Cité Soleil" is a dramatical story about two brothers fight for survival in Haïtis notorious slum district, Cité Soleil.

The documentary was also awarded by the American Directors Association at the annual prize-giving in Los Angeles in January.
