At Egmont, we strive to base our work and support on knowledge. We do this, among other things, through our regular publication, Egmont Insight, where we continuously produce and share knowledge and insights about children and young people at risk.

A Voice in the Classroom

Students would like to be more engaged in the planning of teaching — without taking over the teacher’s responsibility. A new study shows that students who feel engaged have higher democratic and academic self-confidence, greater motivation and better well-being at school. You can also read teachers’ examples from practice, a school researcher’s perspective and Danish School Students’ seven recommendations for the future of student engagement.

Other studies

Through studies, children's voices, and best practice examples, we have contributed for several years with investigations that delve into the challenges experienced by children and young people at risk – and offered solutions.

Children and young people with chronic or severe physical illness dream of a future with education and work. Yet, nearly one in four young people with a severe physical illness do not pursue an education after primary school. This was shown in Egmont Insight 2 together with young people’s recommendations on how we can support them in completing upper secondary education.

A childhood in poverty affects more than just the wallet – it also weakens children and young people's relationships, their health, and their self-belief. This was shown in Egmont Insight 3 from fall 2025. In there, you can also read the young people's own advice on how professionals can most effectively support children and young people from low-income families.

Egmont Insights has replaced the Egmont Report

Egmont Insights has replaced the annual Egmont Report, which Egmont has published once a year for the past ten years, focusing on a specific issue affecting children and young people in difficult life circumstances. In the new Egmont Insights format, the analyses maintain the same high quality, but the format has been streamlined and modernized to make it more accessible and user-friendly. At the same time, the frequency of publications has increased, so that Egmont more often contributes with new knowledge and insights in the areas where the foundation is active, often in collaboration with others. In this way, Egmont Insights helps to sustain the long-term effort in the foundation's work to create positive change for children and young people in difficult life circumstances.
