Egmont launch podcasts for children

07.01.2020

Egmont is expanding its Danish podcast platform Talk Town with special content for children. The purpose of Egmont's new podcasts is to motivate children aged 4-12 and give them good listening experiences.

"Many children have their eyes fixed on a screen, tablet or television. We want to motivate the children to create images using their own imagination – and maybe even to get a bit wiser as they listen. Children can hear podcasts as they draw, build Lego or make a puzzle – and the whole family can enjoy podcasts during road trips", says Mette Hovmand-Stilling, editor of Egmont's podcast universe Talk Town.

All content is tested at children in the target audience to ensure that the concepts and narratives are engaging. The formats are also subject to the same criteria as all other Talk Town content: Well-spoken, high-quality and with the motto 'Stories you can't let go'.

The podcasts for children will be a bit shorter than normal podcasts and therefore lasts about 15 minutes.

In Talk Town, children can listen to the podcasts "Sebastian's Coolest Animals", "Faroese Fables" and "Radionauters", and they can hear "Guided Meditations for Kids" and short stories from the Wendy magazine as well.

In the coming months several podcasts will be specially produced for the young target group.
