Egmont Publishing has invested further in the successful e-commerce company Outnorth
In 2016, Egmont Publishing became a shareholder in Outnorth – the leading online retailer in Scandinavia for outdoor products. Egmont now secures one-third of the ownership in the company by investing a further amount in the tens of millions DKK.
”We expect a lot from Outnorth, which is a strong and interesting company. New investment simplifies the ownership structure and thus enhances our position within the outdoor segment which is part of our strategic focus,” CEO of Egmont Publishing Torsten Bjerre Rasmussen says.
Outnorth sells clothes, shoes and equipment for outdoor use and training. Among the owners is the private equity fund Verdane and the original founders of the company.
Stategic focus on e-commerce
Earlier this month, Egmont Publishing announced a million investment in the e-commerce company Bageren og Kokken followed by a merger with the Danish webshop GoShopping by which the company achieved a leading Nordic online position within the kitchen equipment segment.
Egmont’s strategic focus on e-commerce includes ownership in companies like Jollyroom, Fjellsport, Med24 and Nicehair. Egmont is also behind a number of successful growth companies as well as Nordisk Film, Egmont Publishing, book publishers and TV2 in Norway.
