Egmont appoints new CEO in Outnorth

Harald Ennen, 55, is the new CEO of Egmont’s successful e-commerce company Outnorth

With a turnover of SEK 430m and a leading position in the Nordic market, Egmont’s outdoor webshop Outnorth is a company with success.

Earlier this year, Lars Nykvist decided to step down after 8 years in the company – the last 4 years as CEO. The new CEO is Harald Ennen, 55, with a background withinthe e-commerce latest as CEO in NetOnNet, one of the leading online businesses in the Nordic area.

”I am really glad to announce Harald Ennen as the new CEO in Outnorth. Harald has a solid experience both within e-commerce and as CEO. I feel confident that he is the right person to lead Outnorth to become even stronger,” says General Manager for e-commerce in Egmont Publishing, Cato Broberg.

Big ambitions 
By investing a three-digit-million amount earlier this year, Egmont Publishing chair Outnorth. The company was founded in 2005 and operates in both Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Germany.

Harald Ennen also stresses the ambition to be the leading Nordic webshop within the outdoor segment:

”The modern consumers seek more experiences and tend to live a more active ourdoor life. That makes Outnorth a business perfectly suited for the modern life and the ambition is of course to have a leading position,” says the new CEO. 

The 2020-goal
Besides Outnorth, Egmont’s portfolio within e-commerce consists of Jollyroom,Bagaren och Kocken, Fjellsport, Med24 and Nicehair. According to Torsten Bjerre Rasmussenthe 2020-ambition is a turnover of EUR 500m in e-commerce from the existing EUR 300m.
