When an Ordinary Girl Becomes an Heiress Overnight

Two of Norway’s most experienced series creators are behind TV 2’s new drama venture, Nepobaby.

Strong stories

What happens when an ordinary Norwegian girl suddenly becomes the heiress to one of Norway’s oldest and wealthiest shipping dynasties? Emma’s previously unknown biological father turns out to be one of the country’s richest shipowners. On his deathbed, he names her in his will. But there’s more to inherit than just shares; she also gains a whole group of siblings.

Emma has always dreamed of being part of a big family and eagerly embraces her newfound half-siblings. But how do they feel about suddenly having a new family member inserted into the heart of the family business?

Created by Henriette Steenstrup and Siri Seljeseth, two of Norway’s top TV writers and directors, Nepobaby is a major new drama series for TV 2, starring Vivild Falk Berg as the young woman who unexpectedly gains four half-siblings and a massive inheritance.

Vivild Falk Berg is known from her role in the hit series Pørni, which was also created by Steenstrup. In Pørni, Steenstrup played the title role of Pernille, a single mother nicknamed ‘Pørni’. In Nepobaby, Steenstrup takes on a central role again, this time as one of the four half-siblings, alongside Nicolai Cleve Broch, Kristin Grue, and Helle Ryg Eia.

Nepobaby is a warm and humorous relationship drama about loyalty, family, and wealth—exploring how power and money can shape our identity and our relationships with others.

Produced by Eldorado Content Club for TV 2, the series has already won two awards at the prestigious Cannesseries festival in the spring, and has been sold to several countries even before its Norwegian premiere.
