New knowledge about children and young people
Based on studies, children’s voices, best practice examples and solutions, Egmont focuses on challenges and solutions for children and young people at risk.
"Imagine you walk into a place where the teacher is teaching in a language you don’t know. It might as well be Chinese".
Those are the words of 14-year-old Bertram in the 2023 Egmont Report, which focused on children and young people who struggle with maths. Together with other children and young people, Bertram shared his story of struggling with numbers and maths. Afterwards, he was invited to a meeting at the Danish Ministry of Children and Education where he shared his experience and advice with the minister.

Knowledge can lead to change
In Egmont’s work with children and young people, we strive to base our work on knowledge. This means, that we gladly initiate studies that can help shed new light on challenges and solutions for children and young people at risk.
In recent years, the Egmont Report and other studies have focused on topics such as child poverty, paternity leave, starting school, dyslexia, learning for children placed in care, young children’s well-being, young people during the Covid-19 pandemic and children and young people in grief.
We share our knowledge and experience with professionals so that we can all learn more about the challenges and solutions. We strive to convert the knowledge we generate into practice and push for systemic changes that can make life better for children and young people who are struggling. We do all this to create the most positive change for children and young people.
