Gastronomic Magazine Launches New Awards
Story House Egmont’s specialist magazine dedicated to delicious food and culinary experiences is now celebrating talents and taste with a brand-new award show.
Gastro magazine does not just deliver inspiring reads about gastronomy, top-quality kitchen tools, and interviews with exciting culinary talents. In 2025, the magazine launched the Gastro Awards for the first time, an event that honors the year’s most outstanding culinary talents and gastronomic experiences. The awards focus on innovation and quality in the restaurant industry, recognizing those who create unique and inspiring taste experiences.
At the Gastro Awards 2025, Rasmus Munk of Alchemist received the prestigious Chef of the Year award. The prize was presented by Gastro's editor-in-chief, Kristoffer Dahy Ernst.
“Danish restaurants, eateries, bars, and bakeries are operating at an extraordinary level. To celebrate the exceptional quality we are fortunate to enjoy here in Denmark, we’ve launched the Gastro Awards as an annual event that truly highlights the excellence being delivered across the country,” says Kristoffer Dahy Ernst.
A total of 11 awards were presented at the ceremony, reflecting Denmark’s position as one of the world’s leading culinary nations and the strong public interest in gastronomy among Danes.
“Gastro has the most knowledgeable readers in the country. The appetite, literally, is huge, and it’s a privilege to create a magazine, and now an award show, for readers who are so well-versed and curious about Danish gastronomy,” says Kristoffer Dahy Ernst.
Gastro is Denmark’s go-to magazine for great food and culinary experiences. It features articles and news on gastronomy, restaurants, wines, recipes, and influential personalities in the field. Gastro has more than 100,000 readers and is published by Story House Egmont.
