For adults, young people and children, for education and entertainment, for learning and play – Egmont’s books publishers cover all ages and interests, publishing both in print and digital.

Egmont owns Denmark's second-largest publishing company, Lindhardt og Ringhof, and co-owns Norway's leading publishing house, Cappelen Damm. We publish fiction, non-fiction, children's books, audiobooks, e-books and educational materials, digitally and in print.

Lindhardt og Ringhof is Denmark's second-largest publishing company with imprints in the form of children's publisher Carlsen and educational publisher Alinea with Akademisk Forlag, Alfabeta, Easy Readers, L&R Business and L&R Uddannelse. Cappelen Damm is Norway's largest publishing house, with activities spanning general literature and education as well as book clubs, e-commerce, the bookstore chain Tanum and the Sentraldistribusjon distribution business.

Lindhardt og Ringhof
Lindhardt og Ringhof publishes approximately 600 titles per year – most of which are also published as e-books. The company has an impressive profile in fiction with Danish authors such as Sissel-Jo Gazan, Steffen Jacobsen, and Merete Pryds Helle, as well as best-selling crime authors, including Leif Davidsen, Michael Katz Krefeld, and Lone Theils. Additionally, Lindhardt and Ringhof publishes fiction from debut authors.

Lindhardt og Ringhof also publishes big-name foreign authors, such as Karl Ove Knausgård, Siri Hustvedt, and Paul Auster, and is also Denmark’s leading publisher of quality cookbooks with top Danish and international chefs, such as Claus Meyer, Jamie Oliver, and Yotam Ottolenghi.

Children’s book publisher, Carlsen, publishes classics such as Rasmus Klump books and Halfdans ABC, as well as new, entertaining children’s books such as Karmaboy and The Elephant Stone.

Saga Egmont is a digital publisher under Lindhardt og Ringhof and is the market leader of e-books and audiobooks in Denmark. Since 2014 Saga has grown behind Denmark and is currently active in Germany, Sweden, Poland, The Netherlands, Norway, and England. The publisher’s primary focus is on popular fiction, literary classics, biographies, and children’s books – with the aim of making all books available again.

The educational publisher Alinea delivers the academic teaching content to all age groups across all platforms. Alinea makes flexible materials available on different platforms so the material can be adapted to the student, teacher, and teaching – not vice versa. Additionally, Alinea develops adaptive digital learning games for preschool and grade school children. In these games, when the child answers correctly the tasks in the game become harder, and when the child answers wrong the tasks become easier.

Cappelen Damm
Norway’s largest publisher, Cappelen Damm, publishes around 1,500 new book titles a year and is the overall market leader in Norway with authors such as Roy Jacobsen, Lars Saabye Christensen, and Dan Brown. Cappelen Damm strengthened its position with the purchase of three publishers: Font, Fontini, and Arneberg. Cappelen Damm is responsible for one of every three textbooks sold from primary school through university, and also supplies the digital aid, PPN, to the Danish and Norwegian health services.
