The Nordisk Film Foundation

Support to the professional film industry.

The Nordic Film Foundation, which is a part of the Egmont Foundation, distributes about four million Danish Kroner each year, to projects who aim to promote and preserve Danish film and television, artistically and technically.

The Nordic Film Foundation is the major private foundation supporting the media industry in Denmark. The Foundation gives support to persons and institutions in the following categories:

1. Research and education - residence costs.
2. Activities within the film- and TV-industry, its organisations and its schools.
3. Arrangement of jubilee activities and media announcements, relevant to film and TV etc.
4. Independent project development with due respect for production and technology in moving pictures.

The Nordic Film Prize
The Nordic Film Prize was established in 1996. The object of the prize is to reward outstanding efforts within Danish film, and to stimulate the industry to strive after excellence, in respect of art and professionalism. The prize counts the age of Nordisk Film, multiplied by a 1.000 Danish Kroner. In 2010 the prize will therefore be 104.000 DKR.

The prize is awarded at the Danish Academy’s Robert-party in the beginning of the year, and is awarded to one of the recipients of the Robert Prizes.
