Many young Danes are unhappy. Unfortunately, we do not know why, or how extensive the problems are.

Hard of hearing youngsters turn to cookery

The deaf and hard of hearing youngsters face special challenges in their efforts to get an education that could eventually lead to a sustainable career. At restaurant “Allehånde” in Copenhagen, youngsters with hearing difficulties are offered specially designed courses for chefs or caterers.

Integration via music

There is a continuous requirement to break down the language and cultural barriers between young Danes and youngsters with a different ethnic background.

School Project in womens' crisis centre

About half the children at crisis centres are forced to interrupt their schooling while living there. These children are often unable to attend school, or are temporarily admitted to a local school nearby. These schools seldom have the necessary experience in teaching vulnerable children.

You almost forget where you are

A prison is not just about imprisonment. At Ringe State Penitentiary, the Egmont Foundation has worked on improving the exercise yards. This is a benefit to both staff and inmates.

Potential of young persons with learning difficulties

As the demands of the labour market for educational and professional qualifications rises, it gets even more important to pay attention to those with learning difficulties. “Havredals Praktiske Landbrugsskole” (an agricultural school) helps improve the potential of pupils with learning difficulties.
