Egmont provides content to new mobile service

Telecomexperts describe it as a “game changer” in the Danish mobile market, and Egmont is involved in several ways. Telmore Play is a new concept for mobile subscriptions combined with services such as movies, games, books and magazines on mobile and tablet. Several Egmont magazines, MinBio and books from Lindhardt & Ringhof are part of the attractive content.

Several Danish analysts agree - the world has not seen anything like this before. They are impressed with the new mobile service Telmore Play just launched by the TDC owned company Telmore. It has caught the media's attention and the new product combines a mobile subscription with free access to content such as TV-series, movies, books, magazines and news.

Telmore has entered into a number of agreements with leading content providers, like HBO, Nordic, JP/Politiken, TV2 and Egmont. A Telmore Play subscription gives the customers a regular mobile subscription and full access to digital entertainment for 249 DKK per month. Egmont Publishing provides four exclusive magazines – Euroman, Eurowoman, RUM and Gastro, and Nordisk Film provides MinBio, which is the largest movie-app for children in The Nordic countries. Moreover the e-book service Mofibo is part of the deal and Lindhardt & Ringhof is a major supplier to Mofibo.

Magazine sales director at Egmont Publishing, Henrik Løvstrøm, says: "We believe it's an interesting business model and it gives us an opportunity to distribute our four exclusive magazines to an even larger target group. We expect to reach some quality conscious digital consumers, who don't subscribe to our printed magazine today. Our corporation with Telmore is one out of several initiatives to increase our sale of digital subscriptions in a country mainly driven by selling by retail sale. We are testing the marked and will gain some important experiences.

The Nordisk Film owned MinBio is also very excited about the initiative and Commercial Director Mikkel Weider says: "Telmore Play is an exciting concept, which provides quality content for the Danes. This corporation is very relevant as our customers are families with young children and grandparents and all our customers are mobile. We believe we can get more subscribers this way."
