The Egmont media group delivered a solid performance in 2016 with profit growth at three out of four divisions and revenue of EUR 1.6bn. The Grow with the Modern Consumer strategy brought digital growth and new tech-based businesses. Pre-tax profit amounted to EUR 70m. Egmont made charitable donations of EUR 13m to help children and young people and to support talents in the film industry.
Egmont Publishing has acquired part of the award-winning digital media agency KAN, marking a further step in a strategic drive to grow Egmont’s digital communications and marketing businesses.
Egmont Publishing will be launching Trolls books and magazines in 14 countries to tie in with DreamWorks Animation’s feature film release this October.
The Egmont media group achieved revenue growth for the fourth consecutive year in 2015 with revenue totalling EUR 1.6bn. The result of EUR 102m is the second-highest to date. The key ingredients are strong media content, digital growth businesses and new media channels with more direct consumer contact. Egmont is focusing on acquisition and investment opportunities. In 2015, Egmont granted donations of EUR 12m to support children and young people.
Danish social marketing agency Patchwork has established its name with clients such as MARS, Arla, Bosch and PepsiCo. Now Egmont Publishing invests in the company and takes another step into the market for content marketing
