Egmont Publishing recorded growth in operating profit in 2015. The good result was generated by strong performance in the Nordic countries as well as the key markets Germany, the UK and Poland, whereas the challenges in the Russian market impacted results negatively. The Kids’ segment with Disney products such as Starwars and Frozen enjoyed great success.
The digital magazine subscription service Flipp has now been launched in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The digital businesses delivered revenue growth.
Egmont Publishing continued to invest in content marketing entities and expects further growth in the years ahead. In the Nordic countries, Egmont has invested in five different e-commerce companies, which generated total revenue of approximately EUR 65m in 2015, but with only limited consolidation into Egmont’s accounts.
