Lindhardt & Ringhof strengthens distribution of e-books

Together with Gyldendal, Lindhardt & Ringhof has acquired the company Publizon, which provides digital distribution solutions. This will strengthen the digital book market and streamline the distribution of e-books.

2010 has just kicked off, and Lindhardt and Ringhof has already set the course for an exciting digital year. Gyldendal and Lindhardt and Ringhof have bought the company Publizon, which provides digital distribution solutions for e-books, print on demand and audio books.

Easier access to e-books
The acquisition means that Lindhardt and Ringhof and Gyldendal will create a comprehensive distribution database with all titles .The database is managed by Publizon. This gives easier access to popular e-books for retailers. Instead of having to look at the web sites of various publishers they can make use of the common database, says Jakob Larsen, Supply Chain Manager at Lindhardt and Ringhof.

"Better distribution methods for e-books will benefit everyone. The acquisition means that the e-book market will improve significantly and benefit our customers, publishers and authors, "says Jakob Larsen.

Competitors in cooperation
Lindhardt and Ringhof and Gyldendal, Denmark's two largest publishers, is now collaborators, and this is something that Jakob Larsen is looking forward to.

"I am pleased that we can cooperate with our competitor, Gyldendal, in an area which structurally will do us both good," he says.
