China's Fun Publishing joins CROC in China
Children’s Fun Publishing was founded 15 years ago, and although it has been enjoying considerable success recently, it has had its own share of ups and downs.
Partly due to its unusual standing in China as an international publishing joint venture, it hasn’t always been given a lot of support in Chinese publishing circles, and at times was even viewed as an outsider. For this reason, it has not up until now being given permission to join the China’s Children’s Readings Operating Committee (CROC).
CROC is a national organization of professional children’s publishers in China and is affiliated with the Chinese Publishers’ Association. Every year, CROC regularly holds children’s publisher meetings, which provide a platform for information and knowledge sharing in the field of children’s publishing. It also organizes CROC Children’s Book Fairs, where children’s book distributors nationwide attend for collective purchasing.
Up until now, CFP could only do product promotion in newspapers and magazines that would be distributed in the CROC book fair, but as a non-member could not attend the fairs. For years, CFP made great efforts to be part of the organization, but by no means found it easy.
However, since Mingliang Hou joined CFP, our efforts to join have been redoubled. We are now delighted to announce that after more than 2 years’ hard work, we have not only formally joined CROC, but Mingliang Hou has also been chosen as director of CROC’s Comic and Animation Research Council.
CFP joining CROC means that we have one more platform for knowledge exchange, but more importantly, it also means our years of effort and development have been fully recognized in China’s publishing circles. From this perspective, it can seriously be regarded as another new milestone in CFP’s history.
