The lucky coin
Scrooge McDuck is not the only one with a lucky silver dollar. Egmont also has one.
It is May 15th 1878 and Egmont Harald Petersen is on his way into town to pick up the first delivery for his printing works. On the way he sees a 25 øre coin on the sidewalk. Egmont is convinced that this will bring him luck, so he picks it up and takes it to his office.
The coin turned out to be Egmont’s lucky quarter, and it can still be seen in the safe in the Egmont CEO's, Steffen Kragh, office at company headquarters in Copenhagen.
Next to the coin is a note written by Egmont:
”Lucky coin! I found this 25-øre coin with the hole in the centre on the morning I went to fetch my first piece of inventory for the printing works (May 15, 1878).”
