Egmont over the years

P. Petersens Bogtrykkeri (Bookpress): 1878-1914
The business was founded in 1878 by the then 17-year-old Egmont Harald Petersen. Young Egmont had to ask his mother Petrine Petersen for a loan.

Petrine applies for permission to run the little press business, and it is therefore given the name ” P. Petersens Bogtrykkeri”.

Gutenberghus Group: 1914-1992
In 1914, at the instigation of Egmont Harald Petersen a large printing house and magazine business is built in Copenhagen: Gutenberghus. It is named after the man who invented the printing press and this also becomes the new name of the organization.

Egmont: 1992
In 1992 Egmont is given its current name, after the founder.
