Egmont Books Wins WHSmith Quality Award
Egmont Books has been named Best Supplier for Quality at the 2002 WHSmith Supplier Conference.
“At Egmont, quality is integrated into every part of the business - something we believe is a key reason their products are so commercially successful,” said Joanna Scott, Head of Quality at WHSmith. “We always knew that Egmont was a benchmark for safety, but product quality is ultimately about customer satisfaction and Egmont scored on every front.” She added, “I’m also a mother and I have a lot of Egmont products in my home because I know they deliver to the highest standard.”
The boxed set of the “Wind On Fire” trilogy by William Nicholson was singled out for particular praise as a high-priced gift item, beautifully presented. It was described as a pleasure to receive as well as being a fantastic read.
“We are proud to have received this award,” said Fiona Clarke, Managing Director of Egmont Books, “and winning in this category feels particularly apt because it also reflects the quality of relationship forged between Egmont and WHSmith.”
“Quality is something we’re all passionately committed to at Egmont,” says Alison Kennedy, Egmont Production Director, “from sourcing the best paper to using the best graphic repro houses and printer binders we can find.”
The only company to be nominated in two categories, Egmont was also short-listed for Best Own Brand Supplier. Egmont supplies WHSmith with own brand and exclusive ranges of books and stationery as well as published product. “A Series Of Unfortunate Events” won the Best New Product Award in 2001.
