ALT for damerne celebrates 60th anniversary

The Danish magazine ALT for damerne (Everything for women) has pleaded women’s cause for more than six decades, and even though many competitors have joined the market since the beginning, the magazine is still in the lead.

When ALT for damerne was first published October 15, 1946, Denmark was low on women’s magazines. Today the magazines fight over space on the news stand, and as a result of the competition Alt for damerne has to prove its quality every week. Yet for more than half a century the magazine has managed to maintain its position as one of Denmark’s leading weekly magazines for women.

Hanne Høiberg, Editor-in-Chief since 1990, explains how the magazine constantly tries to keep up to date by listening to wishes from the readers.

“Actually the magazine has always had the same strategy that we adjust to the changes we experience from our readers and also in time with more competitors joining the market. ALT for damerne of today has more cutting edge than just five years ago. But ALT for damerne still pleads women’s cause”, Hanne Høiberg says.

ALT for damerne’s 60th anniversary is celebrated with a big event for employees, partners and freelancers at Nordisk Film, Copenhagen on October 11.
