Per Nilsson has worked for Egmont Tidskrifter in Sweden since the turn of 2004/2005. He is editor-in-chief of Sweden’s only fashion magazine for men, KING.
“My job is inspiring, entertaining and time-consuming! The best part is the enormous variety and all the ‘crazy’ people. I meet lots of interesting personalities, and one day is never like the next.
When I’m tracking down a good story, I’m on the look-out for something that moves people, appeals to the emotions. I get ideas all the time, mostly when I’m on a plane or in a taxi and can’t be disturbed. We collect my ideas and those of the rest of the editorial team during formal editorial meetings and conferences. We exchange all sorts of feedback and discuss matters such as article length, illustrations and authors. Then follows the organized chaos of delays and deadlines!
For me, creativity means being passionately involved with your work and showing your commitment. I get my ideas from my travels, international magazines, TV series and my son. I feel a special sense of pride in KING when I see all the positive responses from readers and their significant others.”
