Nordisk Film signs major output deal with Summit

Nordisk Film and Summit Entertainment International have finalized a three year output deal in the Nordic territories. The deal includes close collaboration around 20 movies through 2010.

Nordisk Film aims at bringing strong content to the Nordic market for distribution in all distribution windows. With the complete line-up from Summit Entertainment as part of their distribution portfolio, Nordisk Film adds considerable value to their existing distribution business.

The deal begins with GET SOME, PUSH, STEP UP 2 THE STREETS, TWILIGHT and SEX DRIVE and will also include movies which are produced, co-produced and/or acquired by Summit during the Output Term. The deal excludes pictures on which Summit is sales agent.

Nordisk Film and Summit Entertainment have had a close business relationship for many years and worked together on successes such as MEMENTO, DONNIE BRASCO, ALEXANDER and BABEL.

Bob Hayward, Summit Entertainment’s COO, and David Garrett, President of Summit International said: “Nordisk Film is one of the two major exhibitors and distributors in Scandinavia, and this agreement will give Summit a firm foothold in the market in the years to come. They have proved to be a most creative and professional team, and we look forward to a fruitful partnership”.

Managing Director of Nordisk Film Distribution, Mikkel Berg, comments: “I am both exited and proud about the new agreement with our old friends from Summit. It fits perfectly with our overall strategy of bringing strong filmed content to the Nordic consumers in all windows. I have great expectations of our future co-operation with Summit.”
