For a number of years, Nordisk Film and Maipo have cooperated closely about movie distribution. Nordisk Film will continue to distribute all of Maipo’s upcoming movies in the Nordic countries, and will also handle sales of the production company’s movies in the global market.
Managing Director of Nordisk Film, Michael Ritto states: “The importance of local movies is increasing, and thus a local foothold is crucial. Maipo is one of the most successful movie production companies in Norway. They have a wide range and master many genres, but the common denominator is quality. This profile is well-suited for Nordisk Film, so it is only natural for us to make this move and strengthen the bonds between our companies even further.”

Since it was founded in 2001, Maipo AS has established itself as one of the leading movie production companies in Norway. The company has maintained a high production frequency (10 feature films and one TV series), and presently has an annual turnover of approx. NOK 35 Mill.
