Her Majesty the Queen visits Nordisk Film
It is not a quiet affair, when the world’s oldest movie company celebrates its 100th birthday. Her Majesty Queen Margrethe visited Nordisk Films headquarters in Valby as part of the anniversary celebrations.
The Queen was officially welcomed by Managing Director Michael Ritto and chairman of Egmont’s board of trustees Ivar Samrén. With her host the Queen then went on a private tour of Stage 2, the foley department and famous Danish actor Valdemar Psilander’s wardrobe.
The Anniversary festivities culminated in the grand award show on Stage 3. Here, about 200 guests from various parts of Danish cultural life participated in the event. This year’s Nordisk Film Pris went to director Anders Morgenthaler. The newly founded Erik Balling’s Travelling Grant was handed out to directors Nikolaj Arcel and Anders Østergaard, and to composer Bent Fabricius-Bjerre and author Lise Nørgaard. Finally, our Life Time Achievement Award, Nordisk Films 100 Year Honorary Award, went to director Nils Malmros.
