New creative talents are settling into the red buildings at Nordisk Film in Valby. The three famous faces belong to the successful Danish comedy trio “Drengene fra Angora”; Simon Kvamm, Esben Pretzmann and Rune Tolsgaard, who – along with their producer of many years, Jesper Rofelt – have joined forces with the world’s oldest movie production company.
Besides creating and selling TV-productions, the goal for the creative quartet is to develop new talent for the Danish movie and TV business.
Managing Director in Nordisk Film, Michael Ritto, says: “We are very happy to have the Angora boys onboard. This new cooperation is entirely in line with our strategy to attract the best creative talent to Nordisk Film. Personally, I have been a big fan of “Drengene fra Angora” ever since they started. They represent enormous talent, and I am convinced that we have an exciting and fun time ahead of us.”
Angora-member Simon Kvamm says about the cooperation: “In the long run, our ambition is to create works in both movies and TV. In Nordisk Film, we now have a partner that – like ourselves – draws experience from the Danish entertainment tradition, but who is also ready to experiment and shake up some conventions. Apart from working in a comedy and satire universe, we also want to try out other genres in movies and TV. It could be anything from quiz shows to documentaries. The most important thing for us is to have a set-up, which allows us the broadest range possible for our creative urges."
The first project for the new partnership will be a satiric comedy series with Rune Tolsgaard, Esben Pretzmann and Simon Kvamm in the principal roles. At the moment, the quartet is developing and writing the script for this project.
