Alinea produces new magazine for schoolteachers
The schoolbook publisher Alinea has launched a new magazine for Danish primary and secondary school teachers. The publisher hopes Kolon will give teachers a new communication channel as well as a positive impression of the company.
“Wise up on the latest research into teaching methods” and “Meet Europe’s best natural science teachers”.
Those are the titles of just two articles teachers can read in Kolon, the new magazine launched by schoolbook publisher Alinea. The magazine has a print run of 55,000 copies and is targeted at Danish primary and secondary school teachers.
The company hopes that the new publication will help to strengthen the tie between the publisher and teachers, who are the ultimate decision-makers in the book-buying process, as Vibeke Haiberg, marketing manager for Alinea and Editor-in-Chief of Kolon points out.
Kolon is meant to be an alternative way of reaching teachers. In the past, the publisher sent out brochures and letters about new materials, but as the information flow in schools gradually shifted, mail from Alinea began ending in the libraries. This prompted a need for an alternative channel, one that will hopefully also benefit teachers:
Kolon is initially planned to be published twice a year.
