By now the Danes must be good at cooking. It certainly points that way since the four best selling books in 2007 of the publishing house. Lindhard og Ringhof, all are cook books.
Glæsels grillerier, God mad let at lave, as well as two titles of the popular TV cook Jamie Oliver, Jamie´s Italien and Jamie´s Kogebog topped the bestseller list from L&R through the year.
Also two debutants who had great success with their publications figure on the list.
Knud Romer who had a spectacular debut with Den som blinker er bange for døden which also in 2007 was one of L&R´s bestsellers. Since the publication the novel has won several preizes and the rights has been sold to a long list of countries.
Considering how rare this happens it is remarkable that Lindhard og Ringhof in the past year has repeated the feat with Mikkel Birkegaard´s debut Libri di Luca.
The novel is among the best selling Danish titles and the rights has been sold to United Kingdom and 12 other countries. Moreover the movie right has been sold to Nordisk Film.
Hard packages under the Chrismas tree
The Danes preference for cook books showed once again in the Christmas sale of 2007.
Both Sølvskeen, a 1264 page cook book with only Italian recipies, and the Danish chef Claus Meyer´s offer of a modern Nordic kitchen, Smagen af Danmark are among the bestsellers of L&R.
The hard packages under the Danish Christmas trees might also contain Det Nordiske Testamente 1-3 by Vang Lundbye which is a new version of the Nordic sagas just like Tag mig by the sexologist, Joan Ørting, has had a fantastic Christmas sale.
