Aschehoug wins national nomination in Gourmand World Cookbook Awards

Two books from Aschehoug have won the Danish national awards for cookbooks in the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Awards competition. The contest has attained high status throughout the years and is even called the Oscar of cookbooks.

This year the Aschehoug books “Tre Stjerner” (Three Stars) and “Køkkenfryd” (Kitchen Joy) won the prizes. Ashehoug’s books will compete against the category winners from 65 other countries in the global Gourmand World Cookbooks Awards 2006 held in Beijing, China in April 2007.

Each year the best of nearly 24,000 cook and wine books published worldwide are awarded in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. Aschehoug’s books won in these five categories:

Best Cookbook:
”Tre stjerner” by Bent Christensen, Tom Uldall, Thomas Rode Andersen and Claes Bech-Poulsen

Best Cookbook Design:
”Tre stjerner”

Best French Cuisine Book:
”Tre stjerner”

Best Easy Recipes Cookbook:
”Køkkenfryd” by Christa Alstrup

Best Cover Cookbook:
“Køkkenfryd”
